GST and TCS on tour packages
What GST applies to a tour package?
Tour operator services (SAC 9985) are commonly billed at 5% GST without input tax credit, or at 18% GST if the operator claims input tax credit, under CBIC Notification 11/2017-Central Tax (Rate) as amended. Confirm the current rate before you book.
What is TCS on an overseas tour package?
TCS is currently reported as a flat 2% from the first rupee under the Income-tax Act (section 394(1) from 1 April 2026, formerly section 206C(1G)), collected by the seller of an overseas tour package. Confirm the current rate before you book.
